Fans of Ellen DeGeneres might want to watch out for a Facebook scam that has prompted her show’s producer to file a lawsuit against an anonymous person who has been posing as her manager, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Hollywood, Esq. blog.

Telepictures Prods., a unit of Warner Bros., alleges the defendant or defendants created false email accounts and a profile on Facebook in the name of DeGeneres’ manager, Eric Gold, the story notes.

The false Gold is alleged to have asked for and collected personal information from fans by telling them they had been chosen to appear on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," the article says. If a fan responds, the defendant allegedly asks the fan to wire hotel reservation and ticket funds, the piece adds.

Telepictures wants a permanent injunction to stop the defendant, and is also asking for damages for malicious, oppressive and fraudulent actions, according to the story.
