EW Names Entertainer of the Year … and You Can Have Five Guesses and Still Won’t Get It

Entertainment Weekly revealed its pick today for Entertainer of the Year, and with all the pop singers and TV and movie stars who have dominated the headlines throughout 2011, it has to be considered a surprise.

It’s Daniel Radcliffe, the 22-year-old star of the “Harry Potter” movies, Reuters reports. Despite being in a big hit movie, Radcliffe has had a relatively quiet year in terms of media attention.

Radcliffe made his last appearance in the series in this year’s “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2,” the final installment in the feature series. The movie has been a huge hit, surpassing the $1 billion mark in global box office, the story reports.

Radcliffe has also been on Broadway this year, in “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” which has been well-received.

Adele and Hugh Jackman are also on the list, with the full list due to be revealed Dec. 9.

  1. Isn’t the idea behind Entertainer of the Year supposed to be for people who actually entertain fully throughout the year? I definitely don’t see Daniel as playing that part but boy am I glad that Harry Potter is finally over!
