Steve Carell, best known as the former star of NBC’s "The Office," will be returning to prime time, reports Entertainment Weekly. But it won’t be quite the same: Carell will lend his voice to Fox’s "The Simpsons."
The actor will play an uptight accountant named Dan Gillick. In the episode, Dan’s thrust into the role of running the mob when his boss, Fat Tony (voiced by Joe Mantegna of CBS’s "Criminal Minds"), is put on jury duty.
According to Al Jean, "The Simpsons’" executive producer, “He’s nervous, and then Fat Tony says that he’s got to kill some people and then he’s really nervous because he actually wants to do it. The line between Ivy League MBA and ruthless murderer is a very thin one.”
The episode is slated to air on "The Simpsons" next fall, during the show’s 24th season on Fox. Carell, meanwhile, will begin shooting the feature “Burt Wonderstone,” also starring Jim Carrey, in January.
