As a number of syndicated talk shows jockey for distribution in daytime, at least one show seems to be gaining momentum. NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution announced that it hit a milestone with “Steve Harvey,” selling it in more than 80% of the U.S.
She show is sold in 47 of the top 50 markets, with its premiere in national broadcast syndication set for fall 2012. The announcement was made today by Barry Wallach, president, NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution.
Among the stations that have been added: WCVB-TV Boston, KPTV-TV Portland (Ore.), KSAT-TV San Antonio, WJXT-TV Jacksonville, WTEN-TV Albany (N.Y.), WALA-TV Mobile, WOWT-TV Omaha, and WMTW-TV Portland (Maine).
Said Wallach: "Steve Harvey is a proven ratings winner in syndication and his comedic approach to very relatable topics will resonate with the daytime audience."
The show is produced by Endemol USA with Harvey and Rushion McDonald serving as executive producers.
