January has become a new beginning for television, with next month possibly airing more debuts than in September, the official start of this broadcast season, reports The New York Times.
More than 70 shows will be debuting or having their season premieres next month, the piece notes. Most of those shows will be airing on cable, from the fifth season premiere of "Jersey Shore" on MTV to Dustin Hoffman’s first regular TV role in HBO’s "Luck," the piece adds.
Other midseason debuts include broadcast shows, such as NBC’s "Are You There, Chelsea?" and the "Bones" spinoff "The Finder," which will air on Jan. 12 on Fox.
