Lindsay Lohan appeared in court today, and managed to surprise the judge who has been following her case for months, TMZ.com reports.

The surprise was that Lohan had done what was expected of her — and more. Reviewing the actress’s probation progress report, Judge Stephanie Sautner declared, “Miss Lohan, you have actually done your work.”

In past appearances, Sautner has issued harsh warnings to Lohan for failing to take her legal problems and her probation seriously, as previously reported. Sautner temporarily revoked Lohan’s probation in October.

By comparison, today’s appearance was a love fest. The story reports: “The judge noted Lindsay actually completed her 12 days of community service early. And she went to an extra therapy session — 5 instead of the required 4. The judge also said the morgue was pleased by the work Lindsay has done there — ‘at least as pleased as a morgue can be.’"
