In a move designed to beef up their reporting, 10 NBC-owned television stations will work with nonprofit news outlets on enterprise and analytical reporting, reports the Los Angeles Times’ Company Town blog.
NBC stations in Los Angeles, Chicago and Philadelphia will work with KPCC public radio, the Chicago Reporter and WHYY public radio, respectively, the story notes.
The move comes as Comcast is seeking to meet its commitment to federal regulators that it would improve local public-interest programming after buying NBC Universal, the piece adds.
