The reboot of NBC’s "Fear Factor" got off to a good start in the Monday night Nielsen ratings, helping to lift the Peacock Network from its recent doldrums, reports TVbytheNumbers.com.

The two-hour premiere of the resurrected reality competition scored a solid 3.4 average rating in the key 18-49 demo, helping NBC claim second place for the night. The prime-time winner was CBS with a 3.6 average in 18-49, followed by NBC (2.6 average), Fox (1.8), Univision (1.4) and ABC (1.1).

CBS also won total viewers for the night, averaging 12.0 million to 7.1 million for NBC, 5.7 million for Fox, 4.3 million for ABC and 3.3 million for Univision.

CBS’s comedies were down but continued to show strength, led by “Two and a Half Men” with a 4.6 average rating in the 18-49 demo — down 10% to a season low. “2 Broke Girls” had a 4.1, another season low; while “Mike & Molly” was off 7% to a 3.9.

“Terra Nova” on Fox was down 0.1 in adults 18-49 to a 2.1 average rating.

ABC’s only original, “You Deserve It,” managed only a 0.9 in 18-49.
