Piers Morgan Makes Embarrassing Mistake in Attempt to Pay Tribute to Comedian

Apparently CNN host Piers Morgan wasn’t a big fan of a comedian who recently died. Morgan stuck his foot in his mouth while paying tribute to Patrice O’Neal, who died this week at age 41, reports TheWrap.com.

Talking to comedian Dane Cook, Morgan said, "It’s a sad day for comedy with the death of Patrice O’Neal, who I know that you knew. She died of a stroke today. I want to take a quick look at Patrice on Jimmy Fallon, to remind everyone just how funny she was.”

The problem is that O’Neal was a man. He died of complications following a stroke he suffered about a month ago, as previously reported.

  1. WHY IS THIS CLOWN ON TELEVISION?

  2. it’s a good thing he left “america’s got talent” so he could have more time to prepare…

  3. Maybe if CNN and other networks hired more behind the scenes people of color they wouldn’t embarrass the network with such a mistake. Just shows the lack of any sense of what goes on beyond the suburbs when someone in his position makes a stupid comment as was Morgan’s. Knowing how the comedy community was and is still in mourning over one of their members, not knowing that Patrice was a man is simply unacceptable for someone at Morgan’s level. But when you take an hour and give it to a guy from a foreign country instead of hiring someone born here you’re gonna get this type of mistake. Gotta agree with Nabob and Schwartz on this one though. Both comments have significant foundation.
