Time Warner Subscribers May Lose Knicks Games

Customers of Time Warner Cable may lose out on Knicks games if the cable operator and the MSG Network aren’t able to negotiate a new deal before their current contact expires Jan. 1, reports the New York Post.

MSG went dark on Time Warner Cable for two months in 2005 during previous contract negotiations, the story notes.

MSG wants a per-subscriber increase of a couple of dollars, making it about as expensive as ESPN, which fetches $4.69 per subscriber, the piece notes. The two sides are currently far from making a deal, according to the article.

Time Warner Cable declined to comment, while a representative for MSG said the cable network is hopeful the sides will reach an agreement before service is disrupted, the story adds.
