An actor and TV personality known for his work on Fox and HBO may wish he could take back a comment he made Monday night on TBS’s “Conan,” which could become a sore point with the Jewish community.
David Cross, best known for the Fox sitcom "Arrested Development" and the HBO sketch program “Mr. Show,” was talking about his unpleasant experience making the film "Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked," reports The Huffington Post. Cross, who was raised Jewish but now says he’s an atheist, called the executives who pushed him into making the film "the personification of what people think about then they think negatively about Jews,” the story reports.
Cross said of the movie: "In all honesty it was the most miserable experience I’ve ever had in my professional life," the story says.
The report adds that Cross complained “he was forced ‘at legalpoint’ to spend a week on a cruise ship to film scenes in which he is covered, head to toe, in a pelican mascot costume.”
Cross has been actively encouraging people not to see the movie, which has also been shredded by critics. He went on to slam the film as nothing more than a "big commercial for Carnival Cruise Lines."
Host Conan O’Brien appeared to be surprised by the “Jews” comment and quickly changed the subject, the story reports

If he sincerely feels that way, then maybe he should return the fat paycheck he no doubt collected for making this abomination.

Jews making fun of Jews? Hey, it’s been a staple of showbiz for the last 50 years. If there was a TVweek article every time Jon Stewart make a Jewish joke, that’s all you’d ever print.
Why should anyone lose their job or be blacklisted because they have an opinion about Jews. As long as a person does not practice or advocate hate, there should be nothing wrong with criticizing Jews. We do it to every other group. After listening to Eric Boller and others at Foxnews and the hateful things they have said. They made me realize I had to forgive Mel Gibson. Nothing he said has been as bad as Foxnews Hosts. Since no one has lost their job at foxnews, or been blacklisted. We need to forgive Mel Gibson. We cannot make any one group more important than another to the point of losing a job over criticism, but if you incite hate, it’s time to go. David Cross did not do that.
