Jerry Bruckheimer, executive producer of some of CBS’s top shows — including "CSI" and "The Amazing Race" — has received a go-ahead from the network for a drama pilot called "Trooper," reports Deadline.com.

The show, written by Aron Eli Coleite ("Heroes"), is described as a character-based procedural that tells the story of a down-to-earth mom who becomes a New York State trooper. Jonathan Littman, who has worked with Bruckheimer, will executive produce with Coleite and Bruckheimer, with KristieAnne Reed co-exec producing. Reed worked on Bruckheimer’s "Take the Money and Run" for ABC.
