Singer Katy Perry announced to her fans via Twitter that she’s backing out of her appearance at the People’s Choice Awards, scheduled to air on CBS on Jan. 11, reports People.com.
"Unfortunately I will not be able to attend," Perry wrote. She thanked fans for voting for her, the story adds. She didn’t provide a reason why she’s backing out of the awards show.
Perry and comedian Russell Brand recently filed for divorce after getting married 14 months ago, as previously reported.
Too soon. She needs to have some private time after a stressful live-event.
