In the real part of the news, Republican presidential candidate Jon Huntsman Jr., the former governor of Utah who finally got some momentum in a recent TV debate, is dropping out of the race, according to a number of media reports.
In the Los Angeles Times’ account, "Jon Huntsman Jr. will end his run for the Republican presidential nomination and endorse longtime rival Mitt Romney on Monday [Jan. 16, 2012], a Huntsman campaign source said Sunday night."
Ironically, it was arguing with Romney in the two debates right before the New Hampshire primary that Huntsman finally gained some traction, as he and Romney mixed it up over Huntsman’s taking the post of ambassador to China in President Obama’s administration.
