In a sign that interest in this year’s Super Bowl ads is strong, a teaser spot for a Super Bowl commercial — which will air in two weeks — is trending faster than a popular Super Bowl ad did last year, reports the Los Angeles Times’ Company Town blog.

The teaser had drawn more than 3 million views as of Friday morning, after being posted for just two days, according to YouTube. Called "The Bark Side," the Volkswagen ad features dogs barking out the "Imperial Death March" from the "Star Wars" films, with some of the dogs wearing costumes from the film series.

The ad is a follow-up of sorts to "The Force," last year’s popular Super Bowl commercial that featured a boy dressed up as Darth Vader who used the Force to start his parents’ VW.

"It’s trending faster than ‘The Force’ did, and this isn’t even a Super Bowl ad," said Mike Sheldon, chief executive of Deutsch LA, which created the spot, according to the story.
