Two Celebrity Chefs in Discussions to Host a Daily Talk Show

Two celebrity chefs are in discussions to create a daily talk show that would be similar to "Live! With Regis and Kelly," reports the New York Post.

The two chefs — Bobby Flay and Giada DeLaurentiis — already have their own programs on Food Network, and have worked together on the channel’s "Food Network Star" series, the piece notes.

The idea is being pitched to syndicators and networks as an updated "Regis and Kelly," but with hosts who are also experts in one area: food, the piece says.

Once limited to cable, shows that focus on food, fashion and health are now moving to broadcast as networks look to replace aging soap operas and Oprah Winfrey’s departed daytime show, the article points out.

DeLaurentiis, 41, the host of "Everyday Italian," is the granddaughter of film producer Dino DeLaurentiis, while Flay, 47, operates successful restaurants such as the Mesa Grill and is a well-known TV food personality, the story says.
