A former “Will & Grace” writer has sold two comedy projects in less than a week, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Kari Lizer, who got the go-ahead from NBC for a comedy project less than a week ago, now has also sold a comedy to ABC.
ABC gave a pilot order to Lizer’s female-centric multicamera sitcom, which tells the story of Hilary Pfeiffer-Dunne, a hot-shot, powerful business executive who loses her job and has to adapt to being a full-time mom to two teenagers.
Lizer’s NBC project, also a multicamera comedy, is about two best friends, Jen and Nicole, who cannot live without each other but have very different lifestyles. Jen is conflicted about her family life, her love life and her weight, while Nicole is having the perfect pregnancy and is part of a perfect family situation.
Lizer was turned down by NBC back in May on a workplace comedy, the story notes.
