32-Year-Old ‘Mad Men’ Actor’s Surprisingly Old-School Explanation for Why He’s Not on Twitter or Facebook

32-year-old actor Vincent Kartheiser, who plays Pete Campbell on AMC’s "Mad Men," tells Advertising Age that he’s not on Facebook or Twitter because "I remember a time when you used to have to have something to say to be handed the microphone."

Asked about the lack of social media about the new season of "Mad Men," Kartheiser responded, "If you want to keep a secret don’t tell anyone. And beyond that, I don’t think anyone is on [pronounces it as Tweeeter]," according to the story.

After being told that he mispronounced "Twitter," he responded, "I honestly fucked that up. I don’t think anyone is on Twitter? Twitter. In our family. I’m not a fan of the Twitter or the Facebook."

He added, "It’s pretty simple to just not say anything, and everyone’s been doing this a really long time, acting for decades. We’re just an older school of people, we’re not chomping at the bit to become famous and compete."
