BBC America has picked up two new drama miniseries, which will be added to the network’s “Dramaville” programming block, B&C reports.
Both productions — "White Heat" and "Inside Men" — are British, the story notes.
"White Heat," a six-episode drama from ITV Global Entertainment, tells the story of seven friends, from their college days in 1965 London to the present day. Sam Clafin and Claire Foy headline the cast. "White Heat" will premiere Wednesday, May 9, at 10 p.m. ET on BBC America.
The BBC produced "Inside Men," a four-episode mini about a multimillion-pound heist and how the crime affects the three men involved. The show will launch Wednesday, June 20, at 10 p.m. ET, filling the time slot left open after "White Heat" ends its run.
“White Heat” is terrific. Though how terrific it will be after 15 minutes of each episode are replaced with ads, I cannot say.
BBC America will most likely run each episode in a 75 minute block with commercials. Just like they are doing right now with “Being Human” S.4 on Saturday nights.
Here’s hoping, but BBCA has shown more willingness to be flexible in that way only for the Saturday science fiction shows (don’t want to rile those more vociferous viewers). Remember, they started showing “Luther” in extended slots, but then … didn’t.
