Fox’s Canceled ‘Terra Nova’ May Get Picked Up for Season Two After All — But Not by a Traditional Broadcast or Cable Network

Steven Spielberg’s dinosaur drama "Terra Nova" might not be history after all, even though Fox canceled it this week, Deadline.com reports.

Netflix is talking with 20th Century Fox about saving the drama from extinction, according to the report. The talks are preliminary and it’s not clear whether formal negotiations will result, the piece stresses.

As previously reported, producer 20th Century Fox said it planned to shop the time-traveling series to other networks after Fox made its decision not to go ahead with a second season.

Given the show’s strong showing with time-shifted viewing, it would make sense for online-streaming service Netflix to pick up the program. But making the expensive show work without a broadcast license fee might be difficult, the article points out.
