An arrest warrant has been issued for comedian and actor Russell Brand, according to a report on TMZ.com. The warrant was issued Wednesday night by New Orleans police in connection with a run-in between Brand and a paparrazo, the story reports.

The report says: “Brand is accused of grabbing the photog’s iPhone and hurling it through the window of a nearby law firm.” Brand’s people reportedly contacted the law firm to offer to pay for the window.

New Orleans police said a misdemeanor warrant for simple criminal damage to property was issued, according to the report. Brand is still in New Orleans working on a movie, the story says.
