A representative for NBC’s "Today” show says comedian Kathy Griffin’s claim that she’s banned from the show is untrue, reports TVNewser.com.

"I just found out, I’m very excited, I’m re-banned from the ‘Today’ show,” Griffin told USA Today last week. Griffin claimed Natalie Morales banned her after Griffin was reportedly rude to her at the Golden Globes, the story says.

Griffin also said she was banned in the past by “Today” hosts Katie Couric and Matt Lauer.

“The idea that ‘Today’ show anchors and hosts ban guests from appearing on the show is silly,” said spokeswoman Megan Kopf of "Today." She denied there had been an incident between Griffin and Morales.

Griffin has been drumming up publicity for her new talk show, “Kathy,” which premieres Thursday on Bravo.
