Snooki and JWoww have been ratings gold on MTV’s reality flagship “Jersey Shore,” but that success appears to have hit a speed bump.
The "Jersey Shore" spinoff "Snooki & JWoww" debuted last week to relatively soft ratings, drawing 2.36 million viewers and a 1.1 rating in the key demo of adults 18 to 49 (in live + same day viewing), reports EW.com’s Inside TV.
That’s below the 2.9 million viewers who tuned in for the premiere of Pauly D’s spinoff in March, the story says. By comparison, a History telecast of “Swamp People” airing the same night as “Snooki & JWoww” was the night’s top cable show with 4.07 million total viewers and a 1.5 average in 18-49. A “Family Guy” rerun on Adult Swim pulled a 1.2 in the demo and 2.82 million total viewers.
Does this mean the end is in sight for Snooki and JWoww’s impressive run as media darlings? Probably not.
With repeats, total viewers for "Snooki & JWoww" grew to 4.1 million, the piece notes. Also, Pauly D’s spinoff had the advantage of a large lead-in from "Punk’d," the story points out.
