Martin Short Responds to Gaffe by Kathie Lee Gifford About Short’s Dead Wife

Martin Short has spoken out about an on-air incident in which Kathie Lee Gifford asked him about his dead wife, unaware that she had passed away in 2010, E! Online reports.

Short accepted Gifford’s apology for the incident, the story reports. "On live television, people make mistakes. There’s no ill will intended," Short said.

After the gaffe, Gifford tweeted, "I send my sincerest apologies to @MartinShort and his family. "He handled situation w/enormous grace and kindness and I’m so grateful."

    On the other hand, Martin Short is a total class act.

  2. Not sure what NBC has to do with this — it’s not like they can control what comes out of a person’s mouth on live television…

    Agreed on Martin Short. Not only is he damn funny, he’s classy to boot. Been following him since SCTV.
