A modern-day version of the Hatfields & McCoys feud has been sold to NBC by actress Charlize Theron, who currently is starring in the film "Snow White and the Huntsman," reports TheWrap.com.

Theron will work as a producer on the project, which will be produced by ABC Studios through her Denver and Delilah company, the story notes. Also on board to produce are "Prison Break" executive producer Dawn Olmstead and "Requiem for a Dream" producer Beau Flynn. "Eagle Eye" writer John Glenn will write.

The sale comes on the heels of the popularity of History’s "Hatfields & McCoys" miniseries, which starred Kevin Costner and Bill Paxton and drew 14.3 million viewers for its May 30 finale. The production set a number of cable viewership records, as previously reported.
