A former Showtime executive has been hired by NBC for the newly created role of executive vice president of digital media, reports Deadline.com.
Robert Hayes, who was senior vice president and general manager of digital media at Showtime, replaces longtime NBC Universal digital chief Vivi Zigler. Hayes will report to Len Fogge, president of NBC Entertainment Marketing & Digital.
Zigler, who reported to NBC Chairman Ted Harbert and had a president title, is leaving NBC, the story notes.
“It’s critical that we do everything possible to light up digital media in order to help rebuild the prime-time schedule. And there’s no one better to lead this effort than Rob Hayes,” said NBC Chairman Bob Greenblatt, the former president of entertainment at Showtime.
