Why Charlie Sheen Is Shutting Down His Twitter Account — and What He Said in His Farewell Tweet

Charlie Sheen has quit Twitter, bidding farewell to his almost 8 million followers, reports TMZ.com. Sheen posted one last tweet around midnight, the story reports.

His last tweet said: "reach for the stars everyone. dogspeed cadre. c out."

Sheen, apparently addressing his fans, reportedly told the website: “Thank you all for your amazing support. Trust me when I say please ‘follow’ me to my next endeavor. It’s gonna be epic.”

Sheen’s reason for pulling out of Twitter? The star of FX’s "Anger Management" feels "he’s not getting anything out of the social network," according to the story, which cites sources close to the actor.

Sheen started his Twitter account on March 1, 2011, when he was in his frenzied post-"Two and a Half Men" phase, the piece notes.
