When Americans want the news, more adults — 50% — say that they choose to get the news from television, 36% say they get it from online news sources, and only 10% turn to print, reports the UPI.

In a Harris Interactive survey of 2,307 adults conducted Aug. 13-20, two-thirds of Americans have a moderate interest in the news, and claim that they keep up with the news as part of their leisure time.

By comparison, 13% called themselves "news junkies" and 18% responded that they were not really interested in the news.

Men are more likely than women to describe themselves as news junkies — 17% of men did so, compared with 9% of women.
