Pushing to create its own lineup of original scripted shows, Amazon.com has cast a veteran of the long-running NBC hit “Cheers” — Emmy winner Bebe Neuwirth — to star in the comedy pilot "Browsers," reports Deadline.com.

Amazon is reaching out to well-known comedy names, and has approached former "Roseanne" star John Goodman and "Frasier" alum David Hyde Pierce, the story notes.

Neuwirth, who played Lilith on both "Cheers" and "Frasier," will be part of a musical comedy set in a Manhattan office, where young people are starting work at a news website, the story says.
