Hillary Clinton Disses the Sunday Newsmaker Shows

In the midst of her congressional testimony Wednesday on the handling of the attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton let it be known that she’s not a big fan of Sunday morning newsmaker programs such as CBS’s "Face the Nation," ABC’s "This Week" and NBC’s "Meet the Press," reports Deadline.com.

Clinton, who will soon step down from her Cabinet role, was asked why she didn’t appear on the Sunday shows after the Libyan incident, instead allowing U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice to go on the shows and deal with media questions.

Clinton responded, “I have to confess, here in public, going on the Sunday shows is not my favorite thing to do. There are other things I’d prefer to do on Sunday mornings. And, you know, I haven’t been on a Sunday show in way over a year. It just isn’t something that I normally jump to do. And I did feel strongly that we had a lot that we had to manage, that I had to respond to, and that that should be my priority.”

  1. Good. Frankly, I’d rather our top government officials actually do their jobs than spend all of their time running around to all of the network news shows, stroking the egos of self-important news queens who get off on being able to make people in power dance to their tunes. Yes, I want to hear from them and to have them held accountable for their actions but there is no way we should be able to expect these people to do the jobs we expect them to be doing if they spend over half of their time in a news studio.

  2. Obviously Hillary wasn’t willing to lie so aggressively and Rice was! Mrs. Clinton was saving her lies for Congress!
