Kathy Griffin, known for her past antics on CNN’s live New Year’s Eve coverage, "outdid herself" in this week’s broadcast when she tried to simulate oral sex on her friend and co-host, CNN’s Anderson Cooper, reports the New York Daily News.

The incident happened shortly after midnight, when Cooper cut to a live report from Eastport, Maine, where residents have a custom of kissing a sculpture of an eight-foot sardine that drops from a building.

When the camera cut back to Cooper, it caught Griffin trying to kiss his crotch, the story says.

"Did you drop something?" he asked.

Griffin responded, "No, I was kissing your sardine." Cooper grabbed her and pulled her upright, the story adds.

In 2009, Griffin dropped the F-word during the New Year’s Eve telecast, and last year she tried to strip to her underwear.

  1. Sleazy is too soft a word for that no-talent female. Cooper should have refused to appear with her and had the guts to tell her to shut up. What a way to ring in the new year! Let’s hope she goes away quietly. And permanently. Disgusting.

  2. Piers, when the petition signatures surpass your viewership you should go! Looks like it’s getting pretty close at 90,000… When more people respond to your comments than watch your show, you should take the hint.
