Fox Rolls Out Season Finale Dates, Schedule for Summer Premieres

Fox has set its summer schedule, including plans to air the two-night finale of "American Idol" a week before the end of the broadcast season to allow some summer shows to bow early, reports B&C.

The new reality workplace program "Does Someone Have to Go" will air a preview May 15 at 9 p.m., after the first part of the "Idol" finale, the story notes. The series will then make its time period debut the following week, airing Thursday, May 23, at 8 p.m.

"So You Think You Can Dance" will debut its 10th season May 14 at 8 p.m., while "MasterChef" will air its fourth-season premiere May 22 at 8 p.m. "Hell’s Kitchen" will debut new episodes May 6 and May 8 before moving to its regular time period of Thursdays at 9 p.m. starting May 23, the piece adds.

The network announced earlier this week that the comedy series “The Goodwin Games” will debut Monday, May 20, at 8:30 p.m. and will be paired with reruns of “Raising Hope,” “New Girl” and “The Mindy Project.”

The story adds: “Fox also announced season finale dates for its current series: ‘Kitchen Nightmares’ (April 5), ‘Touch’ (April 26), ‘Bones’ and ‘The Following’ (April 29), ‘Cops’ (May 4), ‘New Girl’ and ‘The Mindy Project’ (May 7), ‘Glee’ (May 9), ‘Bob’s Burgers’ and ‘American Dad’ (May 12), and ‘The Simpsons’ and ‘Family Guy’ (May 19).”
