In what HBO calls "a very difficult decision," the pay-cable network has canceled a series. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that the channel pulled the plug on "Enlightened" after two seasons.
The dramedy was co-created by Mike White and Laura Dern, who also starred as Amy Jellicoe, a self-destructive executive who seeks to get her life together after waking up in rehab. Dern won a Golden Globe for the role in 2012.
HBO is preparing to debut the new comedy "Family Tree," and also has four comedy pilots in the works, the story notes.
What a shame – I really liked it.
What was HBO to do if so very few people watched it?
