A former campaign manager for Barack Obama has joined a cable news channel. TVNewser reports that the business and financial news channel Bloomberg TV added David Plouffe as a contributor and strategic adviser.

Plouffe will appear on Bloomberg TV to discuss political and economic news, and will also work off-air on the network’s business strategy, the story says.

"TVNewser has heard that other channels were interested in Plouffe’s services, but that BTV just offered the better deal," the story adds.

A regular on the TV news circuit, Plouffe managed Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign and has served in the White House as senior adviser to the president.

David Plouffe
