An advertisement starring "Baywatch" actress Pamela Anderson has been banned in the U.K. for allegedly being sexist and degrading to women, reports The Guardian.

The advertisement for the Web-hosting service CrazyDomains features Anderson addressing a boardroom full of men and showing cleavage, while one of the men daydreams about her and her assistant dancing in bikinis while covered in cream, the story says.

The Advertising Standards Authority, a watchdog agency, received four complaints that the ad was sexist. Meanwhile, the ad had been cleared by Clearcast, a group that pre-approves most British advertising, because it said Anderson is a "celebrity who was known for flaunting her body."

But the ASA banned the ad, noting it "considered the ad was likely to cause serious offense to some viewers on the basis that it was sexist and degrading to women." It pointed out that the fantasy scene gave the impression the man "viewed his female colleagues as sexual objects to be lusted after."

  1. It is more degrading to men, suggesting that when presented with a pair of, ummm,. . . ummm . . . SQUIRREL.

  2. allegedly being sexist and degrading to women, Everything about her is degrading to women. Slut comes to mind when I see her.

  3. Interesting when every tabloid and newspaper in the UK is always running pics of topless women. Silly.
