A biopic that aired over the weekend is the top original cable movie premiere this year among adults 25-54 and adults 18-49. Deadline.com reports that Lifetime’s "Anna Nicole," about the life of former Playboy Playmate Anna Nicole Smith, earned that distinction.

But the report notes that "Anna Nicole" fell short of the viewer turnout for Lifetime’s Elizabeth Taylor biopic. Deadline reports that "Anna Nicole" drew 3.3 million viewers Saturday night, fewer than the 3.5 million who tuned in for "Liz & Dick" with Lindsay Lohan. "Liz & Dick" premiered Nov. 25, 2012.

The total viewer numbers place "Anna Nicole," which starred Agnes Bruckner as Smith, even with the network’s "Prosecuting Casey Anthony," which aired Jan. 19 and starred Rob Lowe.
