More details are emerging about "King of Queens" actress Leah Remini’s break from Scientology, with the New York Post’s Page Six reporting the actress threatened to call the police about the whereabouts of the church’s leader’s wife, leading to her church-led interrogations.

As previously reported, Remini is breaking from the church after years of "interrogations" and "thought modification" after she questioned leader David Miscavige about the whereabouts of his wife at Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ 2006 wedding. Miscavige’s wife, Shelly Miscavige, reportedly hasn’t been seen in public since 2007.

A source told the publication: “When you ask a question, like, ‘Where is Shelly?,’ you are immediately hauled in, interrogated and asked, ‘Why are you asking, who are you connected to, are you going on the Internet?’”

Remini reportedly questioned the church’s practices, including forcing its members to "disconnect" from family members termed "suppressive persons," the Post notes.

Because of her questions about Miscavige’s wife and her threat to call the police, Remini reportedly underwent "thought modification" for five years, with friends and family members put through what the source called "security checking." She called it quits after the church tried the technique on her again this year, the story reports.

Remini released a statement Thursday thanking supporters. "I wish to share my sincere and heartfelt appreciation for the overwhelming positive response I have received from the media, my colleagues, and fans from around the world. I am truly grateful and thankful for all your support," she said in the statement.

A representative for Scientology didn’t immediately return a request for comment, the Post notes.
