An actor who starred in the 1987 feature "The Princess Bride" has been cast as the male lead in USA Network’s "Horizon." The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that Cary Elwes signed on for the sci-fi period drama set in World War II.
The project is about a secretary at the FBI, played by Ruth Bradley, who finds out that her husband may have been killed by a spaceship, leading her to discover a potential alien invasion.
Elwes’ role is Max Hartman, a man with a double life, the story says. The casting brings him back to USA after a turn on "Psych."
"Horizon" is executive produced by Gale Anne Hurd of "The Walking Dead," along with "Burn Notice’s" Bridget Tyler, who is also writing the script.
