FX has a comedy project in the works from an actor known for his role on the NBC comedy series "Community." TheWrap.com reports that the cable channel gave Donald Glover a script development deal for a project based on the music industry in Atlanta.
As previously reported, Glover plans to cut back his role on "Community," and will appear in only five of the next season’s 13 episodes. One reason was Glover’s desire to spend more time on his music career.
With the FX deal, the actor will write, executive produce and star in the project, which is called "Atlanta." Glover was attracted to FX’s offer to work around his music career, in which he performs under the pseudonym Childish Gambino, the story notes.
