Weakness in automotive advertising, coupled with hurricane-related cancellations in Florida, are forcing Sinclair Broadcast Group to pare down its third-quarter broadcast revenue estimates, the company said Monday.

The Baltimore-based owner of 62 television stations is now expecting broadcast revenue growth to be around 1.5 percent in the third quarter, compared with the 2003 third-quarter figure of $161.3 million. Earlier third-quarter forecasts projected 4 percent to 5 percent growth.

Sinclair reports third-quarter results Nov. 4.
