Alliance Atlantis Communications, the Canadian-based company that co-produces the “CSI” franchise, on Thursday swung to a fourth-quarter profit as the company posted gains in its three key divisions.

The Toronto-based company reported a fourth-quarter profit of 9.6 million Canadian dollars ($7.9 million), versus a year-earlier loss of 151.7 million Canadian dollars. Revenues rose 21 percent to 323.9 million Canadian dollars ($267.8 million).

For the year, Alliance Atlantis’ profit was 29.7 million Canadian dollars ($24.6 million), compared with a loss of 182.1 million Canadian dollars a year ago. Revenue for the year climbed 17 percent to just over 1 billion Canadian dollars ($826.7 million).

A large portion of the growth was driven by the strength of the “CSI” franchise, which benefited from the addition of “CSI: NY” and strong international sales of the three series in the franchise.
