Ken Lawson has been promoted to the newly created position of senior VP of broadcast sales and Central regional manager for Twentieth Television. The announcement was made Tuesday by Paul Franklin, Twentieth Television’s executive VP and general sales manager for broadcast.

Mr. Lawson, who is based in Chicago, previously held the title of VP of broadcast sales and Central regional manager. His most recent projects include the launch of “A Current Affair,” the upcoming launch of first-run court show strip “Judge Alex” and off-net launches of “24” and “The Bernie Mac Show.”

Mr. Lawson joined Twentieth Television in 1989 as an intern in the company’s research department before moving to the sales department as a sales trainee. He served as an account executive for broadcast sales for the Western region before being transferred to the company’s New York office to serve as division manager of the Eastern region.
