For the first time, an ABC Family Channel series will be repurposed on ABC.

At least the first two episodes of ABC Family’s upcoming drama “Kyle XY” will be shown on the broadcast channel on Friday nights starting later this month.

The move is similar to strategies adopted by NBC and Fox. Shows from NBC Universal networks Sci Fi, USA and Bravo have aired on their broadcast parent network, while FX’s upcoming return of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” will air on Fox.

Touchstone Television’s “Kyle XY” will premiere on Monday, June 26. Reruns will air on ABC starting Friday, June 30.
