Web animation company JibJab Media has received investment funding from Polaris Venture Partners to help grow its online comedy network, paidcontent.org reported Friday.

The amount of the funding was not available, but the cash infusion will be used to expand the brand’s original programming and its humor-sharing community JokeBox.

JibJab was founded in 1999 by brothers Gregg and Evan Spiridellis. The company made headlines for its 2004 presidential election spoof “This Land,” a flash animation video set to Woody Guthrie’s folk song “This Land is Your Land.”

Since then, JibJab has signed distribution deals with MSN, Atom Films and Verizon V Cast and has received sponsorship from Anheuser-Busch.
