Lifetime Names Suratt Digital Media Exec VP

Dan Suratt, VP of business and new media development at NBC Olympics, was named executive VP of digital media and business development at Lifetime Networks.

Mr. Suratt will be responsible for the strategy, operations, editorial and business development for Lifetime.com, Lifetime Wireless Network and Lifetime Home Entertainment Network and the interactive elements of Lifetime Television, Lifetime Movie Network and Lifetime Real Women.

In December Lifetime named Lynn Picard executive VP for interactive entertainment, but the company said its digital business has grown rapidly since then and needed a full-time manager. Ms. Picard continues as general manager of Lifetime Television Network and president of advertising sales for Lifetime Entertainment Services, the parent company.

Mr. Suratt will report to Betty Cohen, president and CEO, Lifetime Entertainment Services.

At NBC Mr. Suratt was responsible for all of NBC Olympics’ business and new media development opportunities and operations, including developing partnerships with ESPN.com, Google, About.com, DirecTV and TV Guide Channel.

He also served as producer on the Olympic Games in Sydney and Salt Lake.
