Feature director Spike Lee (“Malcolm X,” “Do the Right Thing”) is developing a new drama series to be produced by NBC Universal Television Studio.

Details of the series’ premise were not released.

Known for his films “Do the Right Thing” and more recently “Inside Man,” Mr. Lee also directed two episodes of the TV miniseries “Miracle’s Boys” and the CBS pilot “Shark” for Warner Bros. Television.
