Hell of a Cartoon

Oct 18, 2006  •  Post A Comment

Hellboy is making a cartoon comeback.
The comic book hero, who was featured in a 2004 motion picture, is featured in a new animated feature that will run Oct. 28 at 9:30 p.m. (ET/PT) during Cartoon Network’s Toonami block.
Toonami features action shows and is aimed at relatively older viewers, from teenagers through adults. The animated feature is called “Hellboy: Sword of Storms.”
Several of the actors featured in the original feature film provide voices for the new animated story.
Those actors include Ron Perlman as the bright-red, cigar-smoking protagonist, Selma Blair as Liz Sherman and Doug Jones as Abe Sapien.
According to the Hellboy saga, Hellboy is a demon summoned from Hades by the Axis powers to fight in World War II. He is rescued by the Allies and raised to serve good instead of evil.
In “Sword of Storms,” Hellboy travels to Japan, where demons are trying to bring dragons back to the planet. He finds a mystical sword that can defeat the demons, but the weapon’s magic could also allow those demons to terrorize the Earth.
“Hellboy: Sword of Storms” is produced by Film Roman, part of Starz Media, and is distributed worldwide for television and on DVD andvideo by Starz Media. Starz Media has licensed all animation rights to the Hellboy franchise from Revolution Studios. Film Roman, in partnership with Revolution, is developing and producing animated content for television and home entertainment as well as a full range of integrated marketing applications across all categories.

  1. Do you fall in love with celeb chat? Can’t stand it? Will you take very long lunches from your job when you know when the up-to-date issue of Vogue will hit the newstands? I would like to find just how many everyone actually find celebrity news enjoyable, and how many for instance see the fixation about it ridiculous.

  2. Precisely why in the hell do we make it possible for the UN to stay in UN and support it? Kick it! And, the applause just for this fanatic should make it Far more critical that there be no mosque at Ground Zero.
