NBC has scheduled its new crime drama “The Black Donnellys” to premiere Monday, March 5 at 10 p.m.

This puts it directly after its top-rated “Heroes.” NBC hopes to funnel the substantial “Heroes” audience into “Donnellys” and create a midseason breakout hit, out of the way of “American Idol”-dominated Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

“Donnellys” is from executive producers Paul Haggis and Bobby Moresco (“Crash”). Hour-long show is about four working-class Irish-American brothers involved in organized crime in New York City.

NBC also plans to premiere the detective drama “Raines” starring Jeff Goldblum on Thursday, March 15 at 10 p.m., before settling the show into a Friday at 9 p.m. time period.
