E! Entertainment Television will launch as an over-the-air network in Canada, starting Sept. 1.

The Comcast-owned cable channel has made a deal with Canadian broadcaster CanWest MediaWorks, which licensed E!’s brand and content.

CanWest will rebrand its CH Network as E!, with E! content also to be available in Canada online, on mobile, on video-on-demand and over satellite radio.

The CH stations will continue to air their own local news and prime-time programming, but the rest of the schedule will be programming from E!

“One of our primary goals as a company is to maximize the enormous appeal of the E! brand internationally. The opportunity to partner with CanWest to bring E! to Canada as an over-the-air network and multiplatform entertainment service is a tremendous step toward that goal,” Ted Harbert, president-CEO of Comcast Entertainment Group, said in a statement Tuesday.
