WB Cable Arm Promotes DeVitre

Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution President Eric Frankel announced today the promotion of Mark DeVitre to senior VP of business affairs and operations.

Mr. DeVitre becomes the senior business executive for WBDCD, overseeing all business and legal affairs activities for the division, which supplies programming content to the pay television and basic cable marketplace and licenses theatrical motion pictures to the five broadcast television networks.

He also will work with Frankel and WBDCD executives to identify and execute new and emerging distribution opportunities for the studio’s feature films, television series, miniseries, television movies, specials and animation.

Previously VP of sales for WBDCD, Mr. DeVitre helped launch In2TV, the studio’s broadband television service, and was part of the deal that will bring “The OC” and “One Tree Hill” to SOAPnet.

Before joining WBDCD, Mr. DeVitre held several positions in the Fox family, including senior VP and general manager for the Fox Movie Channel, senior VP of operations for FX Network and VP of business and legal affairs with Fox Cable Networks.

Mr. DeVitre earned his bachelor’s degree from UCLA and his J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law.
